The Eroica first saw the light of day in 1997 in Gaiole in Chianti, a small town in the province of Siena where 92 enthusiasts in search of adrenalin and emotion set off on the first edition of a magical cycling event that offers a unique combination of tough circuits, magnificent landscapes and unforgettable refreshments.

The Eroica, an act of love for the kind of cycling that has spawned a great deal of Italian history and literature, sets out to rediscover the genuine roots of a splendid sport with a huge popular following and a true grassroots spirit.
