Built by Antonio da Sangallo the Elder between 1518 and 1545, the Temple of San Biagio is a masterpiece of Tuscan 16th century architecture. Sitting in the middle of a flat lawn, its position outside the city in a breathtaking landscape setting highlights its elegant grandeur. Imbued with a deep spirituality, it was erected on the site of an early Christian church to commemorate a miracle that took place on 23 April 1518.
