San Gimignano, a unique example of “high-rise” medieval town planning, is known throughout the world for its famous towers and elegant palazzi testifying to its illustrious past.

Thanks to the San Gimignano Pass, visitors can now tour the Musei Civici with the Palazzo Comunale and the Torre Grossa which, thanks to their unique position in the panorama of European art history, join with the fresco-covered Cathedral to form a hub that marks the starting point for all other tours of the city. The itinerary also takes in the medieval church of San Lorenzo in Ponte with its superb cycle of frescoes depicting the afterlife, the Museo Archeologico, the Spezieria di Santa Fina with its precious apothecary’s vases, and the Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea.
