This is the largest aquarium on the Adriatic coast and Italy’s second largest aquarium after Genoa. Opened in 2000, it has acquired an increasingly broad selection of animals over the years. The stars of the tanks are the huge bull sharks that can grow up to 3 metres in length. Its other main attractions are its nurse sharks, black fin sharks, hammerhead sharks, Cuvier’s dwarf caimans, Humboldt penguins, turtles, otters, jelly fish, piranhas and Pelagic stingrays.
